Good morning, everyone. Our word of the week is Inclusion. Inclusion is about celebrating all the different people we are it means making sure everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to be their true self here at school.

As you saw in our news report, we have a mission for each day. Today is our first one! We want you to think about what makes you, you. Think about your family, your background, and your heritage.

Our mission for today is simple: When you go home this evening, we’d like you to find one small item that represents your culture, and bring it in tomorrow.

This could be a small family heirloom, a symbol, a piece of art, or anything that holds meaning for your family’s history or background. It could even be a special piece of clothing! Now, a couple of rules to remember:

• The item should be small and safe—nothing too big or fragile.
• You cannot replace any part of your school uniform. But you can bring in an item of clothing but it cannot replace your uniform.
• You must ask permission from people at home to bring in the item.

Tomorrow, your form tutor will give you a moment to safely share your item and its story with your form group. We can’t wait to see all the different, wonderful things that make up our school community!

Lord, We thank you for the gift of diversity. Help us to see and celebrate the unique stories, cultures, and traditions that each person in our school brings. Open our hearts to understanding, and inspire us to build a place where every single person feels included, respected, and loved. Amen.

Today we’re continuing our focus on the Word of the Week: Inclusion—and this is your second breaking news mission from 11B.

Yesterday, 11B asked you to bring in something small that represents your culture or heritage. It could be anything—a photo, a keepsake, a piece of clothing, a recipe, or something else that tells a bit of your story.

Now’s the time to share those items and the stories behind them.

What you’ve brought in is more than just an object—it’s a part of who you are. It connects you to your family, your background, and your journey. Sharing it with others helps us to understand each other better, and that’s what inclusion is all about: making space for everyone to be themselves and feel like they belong.

💬 If you forgot to bring something in, or didn’t get the chance—don’t worry.
You can still take part. Maybe share a memory, a tradition, a favourite meal, a song, or even a word or sentence from your culture that means something to you.

Spend some time sharing with your form or the people around you now! As you share and listen today, be open. Be kind. Be curious…

As a Catholic school, we’re reminded often about the importance of loving and welcoming others. When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was, He said:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”
— Matthew 22:37–39

The people in this room- your peers, your friends, your staff, even those you might not usually talk to – are all your neighbours. Jesus asks us to love them just as much as we love ourselves.

So when we take time to listen to someone’s story, we’re doing exactly that. We’re saying:
“I care about who you are. I want to understand you better.” This is how we build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

🙌 Your Mission Today:

Take this experience one step further: learn something new about a culture that’s different from your own. It could be a tradition, a celebration, a language, or a piece of history. And once you’ve learned it- pass it on. Share it with a friend at school the following day or go home and share what you’ve learnt with your family!

This week we’ve celebrated the diversity within our school, and today, for our “Think Day,” we’re looking to the wider world and asking: How can we contribute to a world of peace and unity?

Our mission today is a quiet but powerful one, taking place in your prayer journals during form time. We want you to create two things that are connected:

1. A Drawing of the World: Draw a picture of the world, Earth, surrounded by people of different cultures. Just like yesterday, think about all the diverse faces and nations that make up our human family.
2. A Prayer for Peace and Unity: Below or beside your drawing, we want you to write a short, heartfelt prayer asking God for peace in our world and unity among all people.

You don’t need to be an artist or a perfect writer. The most important thing is the thought and intention behind your work. Let your creativity flow as you imagine a world where everyone is included, respected, and at peace.

Once you have created your world and written your prayer, your final mission for the day is simple but important: Take a moment to silently pray the words you have written. Hold the people you’ve drawn in your heart and dedicate your written prayer to them.

When we pray for peace and unity, we are answering the call of Jesus, who asks us to love our neighbour as ourselves—not just the neighbour next door, but our neighbour across the street and across the ocean.

Let us prepare our hearts now to write and to pray for our world.

Heavenly Father, As we draw our world today, remind us that you created all people in your image, no matter their culture or country. Inspire our hands to draw peace and our hearts to write prayers of unity. Help us to be the bridge-builders of love and inclusion, starting right here in our own school.

Today is the final day of our mission for Inclusion, and we are moving from thinking and drawing to doing! We spent time yesterday reflecting on a world of peace and unity; now, 11B would like you to celebrate the amazing diversity right here in your form rooms with a game of People Bingo!

The People Bingo cards you are about to receive are designed to help you discover new, surprising things about your peers – things that relate to their culture, background, and life experiences and things about the world around us!

Your mission is simple: You must move around the room and talk to different peers and staff. When you find someone who fits a description in a box, ask them to sign the box. You can only use one person’s name per box!

This activity requires you to step outside your usual circle and reach out to new people. Every signature you collect is a story shared, a connection made, and another step toward unity! As Mr Udoh and the Respect and Diversity Team said in this week’s COTW, if we all listened and learnt more about one another, the world would be a more peaceful and happier place.

The first person to get five signatures in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) shouts “BINGO!“…the second challenge is for someone to get a full house! Once you do, call BINGO! This will need to checked by the form tutor

Start the timer and run the Bingo Activity! – Remember the bingo card on the left is for today’s form time. The bingo card on the right is your mission from the Respect and Diversity Team for you to take away with you and complete over the half term!

Make sure to let us know who wins and how quickly they completed the task! Answers must be checked, we want to hear those three greetings in different languages!

Heavenly Father, We thank you for the joy and the discoveries of today. We thank you for every face, every culture, and every unique story in this room. Help us to remember that our differences make us stronger, and our love for one another unites us. May the unity we found today grow into lasting peace, here at school and across the world.
