This week’s prayer resources were planned by 7T – Thank you!
This week we are praying for:
The ongoing conflict in Israel, Gaza and Lebanon
People who are struggling with their mental health (World Mental Health Day is on 10 October)
Please keep them in your prayers this week and don’t forget to add any suggestions for prayer intentions to the comments box below.

Next week…
Next week we will celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Every lunchtime next week, the chaplaincy team will be leading a range of fundraisers for you to enjoy and get involved with!
Prices will range from 50p-£2 throughout the week. Please bring in any money that you have spare to support some wonderful charities including CAFOD, Mary’s Meals and Cancer Research!…and have fun and enjoy treats whilst supporting those in need!
Form Plant Project
On Friday we celebrated the memorial of our Hub patron saint – St. Francis of Assisi Day! To celebrate this special day, your form received a little gift from the Eco Mission Team… Meet the newest member of your form: your very own peace plant! 🌱 Your mission now is to care for it, nurture it, and watch it grow, just as we are called to care for all creation and share peace. Let’s work together to live simply and sustainably!
Along with your plant you will have received a piece of card with some rules and suggestions for caring for your form plant, a space for you to name your plant and a space for all members of your form to sign as you pledge to care for your plant as a team. Please stick this card up next to your plant or on your form prayer board.

Hi everyone, we are 7T and we’ve had such an amazing week of planning and building the rosary prayer resources that we wanted to share them with the whole school.
Also, as our word of the Week is ‘Rosary’ we thought it would be good for everyone to come together this week, in shared prayer across the school, to pray for some really important things in our world.
If you’ve never met the rosary before, it’s a really special form of prayer in the Catholic Church that has been around for hundreds of years.
It’s all about praying with Mary, Jesus’ Mum, and using different points in the life of her son, Jesus, to help us focus on what’s happening in our own lives too. These moments are called the Mysteries of the Rosary and there are lots of them to choose from. This week we wanted to focus on a set called the Joyful Mysteries which talk about some really special moments in the life of Jesus. We hope that they will help you to think about special moments and people too.
Don’t worry if this sounds a bit confusing, this whole week we’re going to pray (and make) a giant rosary together!
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
In the sixth month, Gabriel (the angel) was sent from God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man called Joseph, from the family of David. The virgin was called Mary.
“Greetings, favored one!” said the angel when he arrived. “May the Lord be with you!”

In your prayer journal, add the special sticker that you’ve been given in form time and write at the bottom of the page a prayer intention that you want to offer this week. As you do this, ask Mary, who Catholics believe are in heaven with God the Father, to pray for this intention.
Lord, help us to understand the rosary better and to pray with Mary this week.
We finish this time of prayer together, by making the Sign of the Cross…In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

When praying the rosary, we usually use a set of beads to help us to count the different types of prayers used in the rosary, mostly ‘Hail Mary’ Prayers, with some ‘Our Fathers‘, a ‘Creed‘ and the ‘Glory be‘ prayer is in there too!
Today we’re going to ‘hear‘ all of those prayers and we’re going to invite you to pray or reflect on the words of these prayers together as a class.
Try and really listen to the words, and if you don’t want to say them out loud just listen to others. You are welcome to join in with the prayers if you wish.
All of these prayers form the first section of the rosary. If you have time, you can take the first pieces of your paper rosary (collected from the staff room) and assemble these chains ready for the “do” resource at the end of the week.
When you’ve prayed along with the video, spend some time talking about what the prayers might mean, and what they made you think about. Do you have any questions about the prayers that you could research the answers to?
Lord, we thank you for the chances we have to get to know you better through prayer. Amen.

Today we’re going to pray a decade of the rosary using this special meditation that 7T have made.
Each time we repeat a Hail Mary we’ll give you something different to think about based on our scripture for this week.
You’ll have time tomorrow to write down your thoughts, prayers and ideas on each slip of paper, and to assemble a paper decade of the rosary.
Today, get comfortable and pray, or just think about the words, as 7T lead you in their reflection.
Lord, help us to take time to think and pray with Mary in this month of the Holy Rosary. Amen.

Today we are going to get busy “doing” in our forms as we put our paper rosaries together!
First, pass round the slips of paper around the room with the different meditation questions on. You can listen to the Magnificat below as you do this – feel free to sing along as you write!
Take some time to make sure that everyone gets to write on a couple of reflections each, and then watch the video which will show you how you put it all together.
Assemble your rosary and then find a space to display it, like your form prayer board. You could even nominate a couple of students to take your rosary to show your form next door neighbours, as everyone will be doing the same thing this morning and joining together in prayer!
