Good morning, we invite you to join us in making the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
On Sunday, we entered into the second week of Advent, Peace week. In Advent scripture, we are reminded that we must ‘prepare a way for the Lord’. The prophet Isaiah, who we hear a lot of during Advent, reminds us that God’s peace is a perfect peace.

A reading from the Prophet Isaiah
Open the gates,
that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.
You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord for ever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
For he has humbled
the inhabitants of the height,
the lofty city.
He lays it low, lays it low to the ground,
casts it to the dust.
The Word of the Lord.
R./ Thanks be to God
In our world and in our lives we all need God’s perfect peace, and we can all play a part in bringing it to our world, just as Mary brought the Prince of Peace to us at Christmas.
10R Have been thinking about where they ‘See” peace in their lives:
Where do you feel at peace in your life? Spend some time discussing as a form and then write your ideas in the comments below.
As we begin this day together, let us pray…
Lord, help us to find peace in our world and to bring peace to others.
We finish this time of prayer together, by making the Sign of the Cross…In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
We invite you to make the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Today we’re going to try and find a moment of peace in our form time. 10R have prepared a special meditation to help us all find some peace today. Get what you need to do done and then set the room up ready for a few moments of calm. You might want to turn the lights off, close your eyes, rest your head on the desk and sit in a comfortable position before you begin.
Think about how you felt when taking some time out to meditate this morning. Is this something you could try to do more regularly? Or even try again during this week of peace?
Lord, thank you for the gift of your perfect peace, help us to share it with others.
We invite you to make the Sign of the Cross as we finish this time of prayer together…
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
We invite you to make the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Today we are going to think about the actions we can take to be peacemakers and to find peace in our lives, as we continue to make our Advent Wreaths.
Once you’ve created your candle, pass it around the room. As it goes around, we’d like each of you to take a moment to write or draw on the candle where you find peace, especially during busy times. We all have moments in our lives where things can get hectic, so think about where you find peace, whether it’s in a certain activity, place, or something that calms you down.
For example maybe you find peace during a quiet moment in the chapel, or when you take a few minutes to pray before starting your schoolwork.

While the candle is being passed around, take a few moments to write a prayer for peace in your prayer journals. It can be a short prayer asking for peace in your own life or for peace in the world.
For example:
“Lord, we pray for peace in our world. Bring comfort to those in places of war and suffering. May Your light shine in the darkest places and bring hope to all. Amen.”
“Dear Lord, help me to find peace in the busyness of school. Calm my mind when I feel overwhelmed, and help me trust that You are always with me. Amen.”
We finish our time of prayer In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
We invite you to join us in making the Sign of the Cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Today we’re thinking about those little act of love that we can ‘Do’ to bring peace and love to others this Christmas.
Today, we’re going to focus on how we can make small sacrifices during Advent to help those in need. We would like each of you to cut out a piece of holly. On the green leaves or red berries, you’re going to write something you can sacrifice this Advent to help others.
For example, one way we can help is by donating to our Advent Appeal for Emmanuel House in Nottingham, which supports homeless people in need. Some things we can donate include:
- Warm clothing (like coats, hats, and scarves)
- Toiletries (such as soap, toothpaste, and shampoo)
- Non-perishable food (like canned goods or dried food)
- Blankets to help keep people warm during the cold winter months.
You might also want to think of other ways you can sacrifice to help others this season. Maybe it’s giving some of your time to volunteer, helping a family member with chores, or being more patient and kind to those around you.
Lord help us to show an active love for each other this Advent.
We remember that God is with us throughout our day as we make the Sign of the Cross…In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
