Happy Enrichment week!
The Word of the week is “Missionary Discipleship”! We are in the 13th week of Ordinary Time.
Thank you to the Chaplaincy Team for helping to prepare this week’s resources!
This week we are praying for…
- All who work for the mission of the church
- Bishop Patrick who is celebrating his 10th anniversary as Bishop of Nottingham on Thursday
If you didn’t have chance to write a message for Bishop Patrick’s card last week, please complete this on Monday morning and give your entry to Ruth/Joe so that we can include it in Bishop Patrick’s card – thank you!
- We pray for year 10 who are revising and completing their mocks this week.
- We pray for our whole school community during this enrichment week – that we may embrace every opportunity and live life to the full! We pray for everyone on trips, that they are safe and have an enjoyable time!

Collective Worship and Catholic Life Rota
This week we have our jubilee pilgrimages to Mass at Holy Spirit Church in West Bridgford, exciting times! Please make sure to visit the “Mass prep” tab on Monday morning and revisit the tab on the day of your year group’s Mass.

On Monday, there is a Respect and Diversity team meeting at 12:30. Please drop by for the meeting, you can have your lunch after the meeting.

Sports Day will be taking place on the 9th and 10th July. Please make sure to have completed and returned your sports day form which was due on the 27th June!

Mass Prep
This week we have our jubilee pilgrimages to Mass at Holy Spirit Church in West Bridgford!
Please make sure you have completed your Entrance procession offering. Please bring your items and Written explanations down to the chapel to be kept safe.

Each form will help put together the Entrance Procession for our Celebrations of Mass.
The Entrance Procession sets the tone for the Mass and helps us reflect on the theme and liturgical calendar. We will be in the 13th week of Ordinary Time, and our Word of the Week is Missionary Discipleship. There are several significant feasts and celebrations during the week, and we have assigned each form a person, feast, or diocesan event to reflect on and represent in the procession.
Each form will:
- Reflect on a person, feast, or theme from the Church calendar or diocesan events.
- Bring forward a symbol or object representing that person or theme.
- Read a short statement (about 2/3 sentences) explaining their contribution.
The objects will be placed on the Prayer Focus at the front of the church and remain there throughout the Mass. Students are encouraged to be creative — they may bring existing items or they may wish to get crafty and hand create items or posters!
Once you have written and created your form’s reflection please email it to Ruth and / Or bring it down to the chapel to be kept safe! Readers and bringers are to come down to the chapel on the morning of their Mass for a quick rehearsal!

Mass Music
During our celebrations, we are going to be blessed with live music from the very talented Mr Ryder and Mrs Ryder! Below are some of the hymns we will be singing in our Masses, have a listen and sing along in your forms to help get yourselves ready for your year groups Mass! There will be prizes for outstanding individuals and the best form groups!

The word of the week is missionary discipleship! A missionary disciple is someone who doesn’t just believe in and follow Jesus, but someone who actively tries to live like Him and lead others to Him.
Our mission statement, which is inspired by John 10:10:
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” reminds us that a life following Jesus—and sharing His love with others—helps us to live our happiest and fullest lives. It feels good to help others and bring joy to their day!
There are so many ways in which members of our community show signs of missionary discipleship each day. Let’s here some of them now!…

On Sunday, we celebrated a major feast in the Church’s calendar – the Solemnity of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Can anyone remember anything about these saints to share with the form? There is a clue in the word of the week being “Missionary Discipleship”!
Let’s take a moment to remember why Saint Peter and Saint Paul are so important and celebrated in the Church, did you manage to remember any of the facts shared in the video?
Inspired by the lives of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, take a moment to reflect on your own life.
Do you see any similarities between you and Peter or Paul?
Perhaps you:
- Have made mistakes but want to try again, like Peter.
- Have found a deeper faith over time, like Paul.
- Feel called to stand up for what’s right, even when it’s difficult.
- Know of someone who helped lead you to Jesus, just as both Peter and Paul helped lead the early Church.
Today, in your prayer journals, we invite you to write a personal pledge:
➡️ What is something you could starting doing, or do more of, to be more active in your faith?
This should be something genuine and meaningful. It could be something missing in your life that you’d like to change, or a small but real step you know you can take.
For example you might commit to…
- “I will start each day with a short prayer to ask God for guidance.”
- “I will try to be brave and put myself forward to help lead prayer or get involved more in form or lessons.”
- “I will look for ways to help someone in need this week.”
- “I will read a Bible passage once a week to understand my faith better.”

As you know, this year, the Catholic Church is celebrating the Jubilee Year 2025! A holy year of renewal, hope, forgiveness, and thanksgiving – a time to reflect on our lifestyle and relationship with God as we aspire to be “Pilgrims of Hope”, bringing good news and hope to those who need it!
As part of this, the Nottingham Diocese is marking Thursday as the Jubilee of Educators, a moment to give thanks for all those who dedicate their lives to education. This includes everyone in our schools—site teams, cleaners, teachers, teaching assistants, chaplains, office staff, catering staff, and all those who work behind the scenes to help young people grow, learn, and flourish.
Thursday is also a special day for our bishop, Bishop Patrick, as he celebrates 10 years of being a bishop – a leader and educator of faith in our diocese. Ruth and Joe will be seeing him today and giving him your cards, so let’s continue to keep him, as an educator, in our prayers also!
Think Task – Jubilee of Educators Thank You Postcards!
To mark the Jubilee of Educators, each of you are going to receive a postcard. This is your opportunity to write a message of thanks to a member of staff in our school community.
Take a moment to think about someone who has made a difference to you. It could be someone like a teacher or your form tutor – or it could be someone who works “behind the scenes” during lesson time but plays an incredibly important role in school life! That might be someone from the site team, the office staff, lunchtime staff, cleaners, teaching assistants, or someone you often see around school who always offers a smile or a kind word. This is your chance to say thank you.
Writing the postcard…
- Write the name of the staff member clearly at the top of your postcard.
If you’re not sure of their name, please ask your staff member to help. It’s really important that it is clear who the postcard needs to go to.
- Write a message of thanks to show your appreciation.
Here are some examples of what you could write:
- “Thank you for always serving us food with a smile.”
- “Thank you for helping me when I lost my PE kit.”
- “Thank you for helping me contact home when I needed it.”
- “Thank you for keeping our school clean and tidy every day.”
- “Thank you for always saying hello and being friendly when I walk past.”
- “Thank you for helping me understand my work when I was struggling.”
- “Thank you for supporting me when I was having a tough day.”
- You must only use kind, thoughtful, and positive words.
This is about showing gratitude and celebrating all of the people who keep our school running and flourishing!
- Decorate your postcard.
Add colour, drawings, patterns, or designs to make it beautiful and joyful for the person receiving it.
- When you’ve finished:
- If you would like the chaplaincy team to deliver it for you, make sure the name is clear, collect the cards and make sure they get dropped off in Ruth/Joe’s tray or the chapel.
- If you would like to deliver it yourself, please make sure you do that by the end of the week.

At the start of our Jubilee Year, we held a postcard design competition to launch our celebrations—and we’re thrilled to announce that Minnie in 7B was the winner! Well done, Minnie!
Now that we’re nearly halfway through our Jubilee Year, it’s time for another creative challenge!
This is part of our regular Becket House Competition, but this time, your entries will also be submitted into a wider Diocesan competition—so it’s a great chance to showcase your talents even further!

✏️ Get Creative – Now it’s your Turn!
If you haven’t already started, now’s the perfect time to get your ideas going! Grab a piece of white paper or scrap paper and sketch out your ideas. Share your ideas with your form group—get feedback and encouragement. Then begin creating your final design! You can: Use form time with your form tutors permission and work on it at home during the evenings or weekend
(especially if you’re doing something extra creative like cake decorating, model building, or textile art!) If you need any support with craft resources try asking Ruth, Mrs Conlon or the Art department for help.
