We are in the 4th week of Ordinary Time and the word of the week is Inspiration!
This week we are praying for…
- All those who are in a position to inspire and influence
- Pope Leo’s Prayer Intention for February – “Let us pray that children suffering from incurable diseases and their families receive the necessary medical care and support, never losing strength and hope.”

- The chapel is open on Monday lunchtime. There will also be a meeting for the Respect and Diversity team (next week is Diversity week!)
- Find out about a new club for Monday lunchtimes below from Ellie in year 13 – an opportunity to journal, read scripture, ask big questions, and share faith if you wish, all are welcome.

Each week, one form will conduct a litter pick during one Becket reads that week.
Your tutor will decide which Becket reads day to do the litter picking in. Your tutors will only need to supervise.
- You will be in groups of 3 max (no groups of 1).
- You will only litter pick outdoors on school site.
- Per group, you will be given 1 litter grabber, 1 bin bag and 1 pair of gloves. The person holding the bag will wear the gloves.
- Equipment is to be collected from B19 at the start of Becket reads after the register.
- Equipment is to be handed in at the end of Becket reads in B19 on the bell for 10:25.
- Bin bags with litter in are to be put in the large main rubbish bins outside the atrium.
- Health and safety:
- No picking up of rubbish with your hands (even if wearing gloves), use the grabbers only.
- No glass or sharp objects are to be picked up (even if with the grabber).

The word of the word of the week this week is…. Inspiration! This morning we are going to head over to The Becket’s new radio channel, the inspiration station, to see what the word Inspiration means to our community…
In your form groups, share your answer to the question posed by our inspiration station…Who inspires you? Take time to think of someone who truly inspires you. Try not to just think of someone who is popular or someone who is famous. Really think – in your life, who inspires you? Who helps you to be a better person? Who inspires you to live your life to the full?
Let us pray…
Loving God,
We thank you for the people in our life who inspire us
by their kindness, courage, and faith.
Help us to learn from their example
and to be a source of inspiration to others
in the way we live, speak, and care.
Guide us this week,
and help us to follow the example of Jesus in our work and interactions.

“Good morning everyone. This week, our word of the week is Inspiration. Often, we look for inspiration in the lives of others – celebrities, influencers, or our friends – and we can sometimes feel like we don’t quite measure up.
Today we’re watching a clip from the ‘Flame’ congress at Wembley Arena. The speaker, Robert Madu, challenges us to think about where we draw our inspiration from. He reminds us that we are each a ‘masterpiece’, uniquely created by God with a specific purpose that nobody else can fulfill.
As we watch, think about how we can be inspired by the person God made us to be, rather than being distracted by the ‘lanes’ everyone else is running in. Let’s reflect on the idea that we already have everything we need to achieve our calling.”
Lord God,
We thank you for the gift of this new day and for the inspiration of your Holy Spirit.
Help us to remember the words we heard today: that we are not here by accident, but by your divine providence. When we feel the pressure to compare ourselves to others on social media or in school, give us the strength to ‘stay in our lane’ and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Inspire us to recognise the unique talents and ‘masterpiece’ you have created within each of us. May we use our lives to bring your light to the world in the way that only we can.
Lord, hear us. All: Lord, graciously hear us.

Good morning. Earlier this week, during our ‘See’ day, we watched Inspiration Station. The video produced right here by our own students. It was a powerful reminder that inspiration isn’t just something found in history books or on a distant stage; it’s alive in our hallways and in the people we encounter every day.
The video showed us that when we open our eyes to ‘see’ properly, we find people who reflect God’s light through their actions, their words, and their character. Today, we are going to take that one step further.
In your prayer journals, we invite you to focus on the person who inspires you the most. It might be someone in our school community, or someone in your life outside of school who encourages you to grow. As we play some quiet music, take this time to draw them. Don’t worry about being a perfect artist – this is a visual prayer, a way of thanking God for the gift of that person’s presence in your life.
Lord God,
We thank you for the gift of Inspiration. We thank you for the students who shared their voices in ‘Inspiration Station’ and for the creative ways they helped us see your work in the world.
Today, we especially thank you for the person we have drawn in our journals. Thank you for the way they live their life, for the strength they give us, and for the way they reflect your love.
Bless them today, Lord, as they have blessed us. Help us to carry the inspiration we feel now into our lessons, our friendships, and our homes, so that we too might become a source of hope for others.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.

Good morning everyone,
We’ve reached the final day of our week focusing on Inspiration. So far, we’ve ‘seen’ where inspiration lives in our school through our Inspiration Station video, and yesterday we reflected on the people who personally inspire us in our prayer journals.
To finish the week, we’re going to put your knowledge to the test. We know that God works through all kinds of people – Saints, world leaders, and teenagers just like you – to bring hope to the world.
We’re going to play a game of ‘Who Am I?’ I’m going to give you five clues for each person. The clues will start tough and get easier as we go, with the final clue linking back to our word of the week.
Listen carefully, talk quietly with the person next to you, and let’s see if you can identify these icons of inspiration!”
Person one-
I was born in Albania but spent most of my life serving the “poorest of the poor” in India.
I am famous for wearing a white sari with three blue stripes.
I founded the Missionaries of Charity and won the Nobel Peace Prize.
I was canonized as a Saint by Pope Francis in 2016.
Inspiration Clue: I once said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

I spent 27 years in prison for standing up against unfair laws.
I became the first Black president of my country, South Africa.
Instead of seeking revenge after prison, I preached forgiveness and reconciliation.

Person three
I was a normal teenager who loved playing video games, football, and computers.
I used my self-taught IT skills to create a website cataloging every Eucharistic miracle in the world.
I died in 2006 at the age of 15, and I am the first “Millennial” to be set on the path to sainthood.
I am often called the “Cyber-apostle of the Eucharist.”
Inspiration Clue: My life’s motto was, “To always be close to Jesus, that is my plan of life.”

Person four
I was shot by the Taliban for insisting that girls should be allowed to go to school.
I am the youngest person ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
I am originally from Pakistan but moved to Birmingham, UK, for treatment and safety.
I have spoken at the United Nations about the rights of all children to have an education.
Inspiration Clue: I taught the world that “One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world.”
Malala Yousafzai
Lord God, We thank you for the lives of the people we have learned about today May we see that you use ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
As we leave form today, help us to be the inspiration that someone else needs. Help us to be brave and courageous so that one day we may inspire others by our actions.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
