Important information for Diversity Week
To celebrate the diversity and our work on Children’s Mental Health Week, we are holding a special “This is My Place” celebration during form time.
We want to celebrate everything that makes our community unique! On Thursday, we invite every student to bring in one item that represents who they are or where they come from. This is a chance to show your peers what makes you, you.
What could you bring?
- Culture & Heritage: Something that represents your family’s background or traditions.
- Food: A small snack or treat to share (please ensure a full list of ingredients is provided for allergy safety and NO NUTS).
- Personal Identity: An item linked to a hobby, a favorite book, or a talent that makes you proud.
The Rules
To make sure the day is fun and safe for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
Safety: Ensure any items brought in are safe for a school environment (no sharp objects or liquids that could leak).
Permission: You must have permission from your parents or carers at home before bringing any item into school.
No Valuables: Please do not bring in anything expensive, fragile, or of great sentimental value. The school cannot be responsible for any items brought in.
Uniform: This is not a non-uniform day. Full school uniform must be worn as usual.
New Club Monday Lunchtimes in B6 – all are welcome
Grease Promo – Tues, Wed and Thurs this week!
Make sure to get your tickets from the music department if you haven’t already!

- Equipment is to be collected from B19 at the start of Becket reads after the register.
- Equipment is to be handed in at the end of Becket reads in B19 on the bell for 10:25.
- Bin bags with litter in are to be put in the large main rubbish bins outside the atrium.
- Health and safety:
- No picking up of rubbish with your hands (even if wearing gloves), use the grabbers only.
- No glass or sharp objects are to be picked up (even if with the grabber).
Thank you to 11T for creating this week’s resources!

Good morning everyone, we invite you to begin by making the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
As well as celebrating Diversity week, this week, we are also celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week, and the theme for 2026 is “This is My Place.”
Often, our mental health is strongest when we feel like we truly belong at home, in our local community, and especially here at school. But belonging doesn’t mean we all have to be the same. In fact, a community is at its best when it is made up of different voices, different backgrounds, and different personalities. Today, we’re going to look at how our unique identities help us find our place in the world. Let’s hand over to 11T…
Now it’s your turn to show us why this school is your place. Each student will be given a cut-out person (to collect from staffroom during Monday briefing). Your job is to bring that person to life!
- Be Creative: Use colours, patterns, and drawings to represent who you really are.
- Show Your Identity: Think about your heritage, your hobbies, the things you love, or the qualities that make you unique.
- Quality Matters: These will be used for a display around the school to show how diverse and vibrant our community is. Make sure they are something you are proud to share!
Think about: If someone looked at your cut-out, would they see the “real” you? How can you show the world that you belong exactly as you are?
Dear God,
Thank You for the gift of this school and for every person in this room. We know that our mental health is a journey, and that feeling like we belong helps us stay strong when things are difficult.
We celebrate our differences today. The many cultures, talents, and ideas that make our community beautiful. Help us to be kind to ourselves and to one another, making sure that everyone feels safe to say, “This is my place.”
Give us the courage to be our true selves and the compassion to welcome others for exactly who they are.
Amen.
We finish this time of prayer together, by making the Sign of the Cross…
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Good morning! We invite you to begin by making the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Following on from our creative session, today we are listening to a conversation with actress Arti Shah. You might recognize her work from major films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens or the Paddington musical. In this video, Arti talks about a difficult time when she was 14 and felt like she didn’t belong because she was different from her peers. She shares the powerful moment she decided to stop trying to “fit in” and instead started to love herself for who she truly is. As you watch, think about what it means to be “unique” rather than just “the same.”

Open your prayer journals. Reflecting on Arti’s story and the “cut-out” people we made, I want you to write a short entry. You don’t have to show anyone; this is a space for your own thoughts.
- Reflect: Arti says, “If I did not love who I was, how can I expect anybody else to love me?” [01:53]. What is one thing about yourself—a talent, a personality trait, or something about your background that makes you unique?
- Write: Write a few sentences thanking God our world for that specific part of you.
- Promise: Write down one thing you can do to help someone feel like they belong here too. Is it a smile, an invitation to sit with you, or simply listening?
Dear Lord, thank You for the reminder that society would be very dull if we all looked and acted the same. When we feel the pressure to change who we are just to fit in, give us the strength to “pull out” of those thoughts and embrace our own uniqueness. May our minds find rest in the knowledge that we are enough, exactly as we were created. Amen
Let us finish this time of prayer together, by making the Sign of the Cross.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Good morning! We invite you to begin by making the Sign of the Cross:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Today is a very special form time. Throughout this week, we have explored what it means to belong and how our unique identities make our community stronger. We’ve looked at how being ourselves is the best thing we can do for our mental health. To finish the term, we are turning our form room into a “Place of Belonging.” Today is all about sharing the items you’ve brought in and celebrating the different cultures, hobbies, and stories that sit in these chairs every single day.
You have the choice to share your item in small groups or, if you feel confident, with the whole form.
Instructions:
- The “Why”: When it is your turn, show your item and explain why you chose it. Does it represent your family’s history? Is it a snack that reminds you of home? Is it an object that shows off a hobby you love?
- The “Link”: How does this item help you feel like “this is my place”?
- Active Listening: While others are sharing, give them your full attention. Respect the courage it takes to share something personal.
- Celebrate: After someone speaks, feel free to ask a kind question or share what you found interesting about their item.
Remember: If you didn’t bring an item today, you can still participate! Simply share a story or a fact about yourself that your classmates might not know.
Lord, help us to keep building a school where everyone feels they have a place. Let the kindness we’ve shown today continue long after we leave this room. May we always be a community that looks for the best in one another. Amen.
