We are in the 3rd week of Easter tide and the word of the week is “Faith“
This week’s Prayer Intentions…
We pray for all faith leaders, that they may lead with humility, wisdom and love, and always serve others as Christ did.
We pray for all who are struggling with their faith, and for those who have no faith, that they may feel supported, understood, and open to peace and truth.
We pray for world leaders, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit to act with compassion and mercy, especially towards the poorest and most vulnerable in our world.
We pray with the Holy Father for his prayer intention for April, that our hearts may be open to God’s call and that we may work together to build a more just and loving world.
Please keep these intentions in your prayers this week and don’t forget to add any suggestions for prayer intentions to the comments box below!

Year 10 Briars – Important Notice
If you missed the year 10 Briars meeting last Friday, please see Joe in the chapel during a break or lunchtime.
Everyone attending the year 10 Briars retreat needs to the health forms and behaviour contracts that have been emailed home ASAP. You can collect printed copies from the chapel. Please return them to the chapel ASAP.
If you can no longer go to the retreat, you need to see Joe ASAP.

The last day before the Easter break was a busy one, and the Lenten mood was very different from the Eastertide atmosphere we return to! We would like to say a huge thank you and round of applause to the incredible Passio cast, along with Mr Lund and Mr Borrill, who led the school so beautifully on the final day through a powerful piece of liturgical theatre. Everyone involved was incredibly talented and brave, sharing their faith in such a creative and reverent way.

Good morning everyone, welcome back, we invite you to begin by making the Sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
As we continue our journey through the season of Eastertide, we find ourselves in the third week, since the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus!
In the Gospel readings this week, we see the disciples still trying to make sense of everything they’ve witnessed. They are moving from fear and confusion to a place of great joy and purpose. This week’s WOTW video by 12P helps us look at what it means to truly encounter the risen Jesus in our everyday lives and how that encounter and faith in Him changes the way we see the world. Let’s watch now…
In the video, we heard how the disciples couldn’t help but share the good news once they realised Jesus was alive. Sharing our faith doesn’t always mean preaching; it often means showing kindness, standing up for what is right, sharing peace during times of conflict or simply being a person of hope.
Speak to your neighbour now and share one practical way you can ‘show’ your faith or values to others this week whether that’s through an action, a word of encouragement, or a way of helping someone in need…then share some ideas with the rest of the class!
Let us pray…
Lord Jesus, During this Easter season, open our eyes to see you in the people we meet and the challenges we face. Fill us with the same joy the disciples felt, and give us the courage to share our faith through our actions and our kindness. May we be witnesses to your love in our school, our homes, and our community.

As we continue our week focusing on the theme of Faith, we reflect on how our belief in the Risen Christ empowers us to be people of peace reconciliation.
Let us share this piece of scripture this morning…
John 20:19–23
A reading from the Holy Gospel according John Glory you O Lord On the evening of that first Easter Sunday, the disciples were gathered together behind locked doors because they were afraid. Despite their fear and the fact that many had denied knowing Him, Jesus appeared among them. He did not respond with anger or blame. Instead, He showed them His hands and His side and spoke words of comfort: “Peace be with you”. Jesus then breathed on them and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive people’s sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Faith is more than just a feeling; it is a call to action. After His Resurrection, peace became the central message of Jesus’ mission. He sends us out, just as He sent the disciples, to be people of forgiveness.
In every Catholic Mass, we share the Sign of Peace before Holy Communion. This isn’t just a friendly greeting; it is a public declaration of our faith in practice. By sharing peace, we show that:
We respect and care for one another.
We choose forgiveness.
We choose unity over division.
Promoting peace is a key principle of Catholic Social Teaching. It serves as a moral compass that guides how we live out our faith in our schools, our homes, and the wider world.
Pope Leo XIV frequently reminds us that there is always “a better way” to respond to conflict. In his Easter message, he urged the world to choose dialogue over force:
“Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!”
As a school community, let us take inspiration from today’s Scripture and commit to choosing peace in our school communities.
We invite you to turn to the person either side of you and share a hand shake or head bow and say “peace be with you”.

Lord, grant us the faith to trust in Your peace. Help us to lay down words of anger and instead pick up the tools of forgiveness and dialogue. Amen.

One way in which we can connect with our faith is through nature and on the 22nd April we celebrate Earth Day!
Earth Day brings together people across the world to reflect on our relationship with the planet and to take action to protect it.
The theme for Earth Day 2026 is Our Power, Our Planet. This theme focuses on the idea that real change does not only come from governments or institutions, but from people and communities working together. It highlights how everyday choices, collective voices, and local action can protect the Earth and shape a more sustainable future. Caring for the planet is something we all have the power and responsibility to do.
As a Catholic community, this belief is already at the centre of our faith and is one of our key Catholic Social Teaching principles. Stewardship is the belief that God gave us a beautiful world and many gifts within it – like nature and animals. We are called to look after these gifts carefully and use them kindly.
Let’s take a moment now to reflect on our relationship with the earth that God created…

Our Word of the Week is FAITH. In our busy lives, we often think of faith as something big and complicated, but at its heart, faith is simply trust. It is the courage to keep walking when we can’t see the whole path, knowing that God is the one guiding our steps.
Saint Alphonsus Liguori once said, “He who trusts in God can do all things.” Today, we’re going to look at some famous figures from the Bible who proved exactly that. From shepherd boys facing giants to prophets in lions’ dens, these people didn’t have all the answers—they just had the faith to say “Yes” to God.
