This week’s prayer resources were planned by 10B!
This week we are praying for:
- People who are homeless and who are struggling in the cold weather
- Everyone who is being affected by floods and climate change

Friday:
On Friday, we are having our form time “New Year’s Eve” party for the new upcoming Liturgical Year and Friday also marks our finale of our staff house competitions week.
To support our houses and to share some joy, students are allowed to swap an item of their uniform with an item that is their house colour and/or add accessories to their uniform with their house colour! Students must still wear their blazer.
For example, if you are in Bernadette house, you might wear a purple cardigan, purple trainers or purple hair accessories!
Heads of House Competitions!
Our House week has arrived and we’re excited for a wonderful week of rivalry and celebration between the houses! As the word of the week is “Kingdom”, we are going to be celebrating our mini kingdoms – our house communities throughout the week! This will be done through our form time prayer, House Celebrations of the Word and House Competitions that will be happening each lunchtime.
At 12:50pm, staff will gather on the hall stage to go head to head for their houses in a series of competitions. Students are able to come and watch, make sure to bring the community support and spirit and cheer on your house representatives!

Advent Celebration Evening
If you would like to help lead the Advent Celebration Evening (e.g. reading, music, drama or Liturgical dance) please come to the sign up meeting on Wednesday, in the chapel, during Becket Reads!
Red Wednesday – Thank you!
Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Red Wednesday last week – whether you wore red, donated cakes and treats, paid for items from our cake stall or helped to sell the goods. We are incredibly proud to share that we made a brilliant £180 for Aid to the Church in Need (ACN). ACN is Catholic charity who help children and families who have lost their homes and loved ones because of their Christian faith. Thank you everyone for your support!
If you brought cakes in in Tupperware, please visit the chapel to collect your boxes – Thank you!
Advent Appeal 2024
This week, our Advent Appeal for Emmanuel House returns. Emmanuel House is a Nottingham based charity who give aid and shelter to homeless people in Nottingham. We challenge you to help build God’s Kingdom, by giving what you can to support those who are in need.
We’re challenging each student to try and donate at least one item. The form who donate the most items will receive a CHRISTMAS PRIZE in the last week of term. Every donation makes a difference!
Be in with the chance of winning a luxury Christmas Hamper!
Poetry Competition
The Tower Poetry Competition 2025 invites UK students aged 16-18 to submit an original poem (up to 48 lines) on this year’s theme by February 20, 2025. Prizes include £5,000 for 1st place, £3,000 for 2nd, £1,500 for 3rd, and ten £500 runner-up prizes. The top three winners also attend the Tower Poetry Summer School. Entry is free; more details are in the PowerPoint and on the Tower Poetry website. Please see Mr Myers in B13 for any more info.

Today we’re going to get creative and get in the mood to share some community spirit and joy with our fellow house members! Let’s look at 10B and their awesome example of banners and party crowns that they’ve created. Let’s hear their whoops of joy, and that feeling of celebration! You can also see a sneak peak at our Becket Olympics Olympics that took place on Monday…make sure to pop down to the hall today at 12:50 to see the next house competition…

You are going to make some decorations to celebrate and support your house during our house competitions this week – you could do one large poster with backing paper or make some smaller bits of decorates like bunting and posters. Make sure to put your form on the decorations and you can use them for your form room after our house week is finished.
Once you’ve made your decorations, make sure to bring them down to Ruth in the Chapel or to Mrs. Conlon and they will put your decorations up in the hall to help you to show support to your heads of house during our competitions week.
As we celebrated the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday and celebrate Kingdom week, we would like you to also make paper crowns. You will be asked to wear your paper crowns on Friday during form time because we’re going to be having a mini New Year’s Eve party before we begin the Church’s New Liturgical Year with Advent!
You will also be allowed to wear your crowns to our final house competition at lunchtime on Friday which will be a staff talent show!

This morning (Thursday!), during form time, one person from your form must come down and bring your toilet roll saint to the chapel. Each of your Saints will then be filmed this morning and then tomorrow (Friday), during be inspirational, you will get to see everyone’s creations and each tutor group will have the chance to vote for their favourite saint from each year group. Very exciting and there are lots of house points up for grabs!
Make sure that your saints are labelled with your form and who the saint/blessed is!
Today, the rest of us are continuing to enjoy making house banners/decorations and party crowns in our house colours! Whilst you make these decorations think about some of the fantastic things that you might have seen this week so far and discuss with the people next to you….

Today is party day—it’s the end of our liturgical year, and we’re here to have some fun! But before we dive into the celebrations, just like we do on New Year’s Eve, we’re going to take a moment to reflect and make our New Year’s resolutions for this new liturgical season.
Advent starts on Sunday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our journey of faith and a new Liturgical year. Take some time with your prayer journal to think about the liturgical year ahead of you.
What can you do to bring the Kingdom of God to those around you and to the world? How can you be more loving, more merciful, more considerate, and more compassionate? How can you put your faith into action? Consider one way you can grow as a person this year, and make a resolution, a pledge, or a commitment to that change.
Depending on time – Once you’ve written down your resolution or as your write down your resolution…it’s time to put on your party crowns and watch the All Saints Catwalk!

Closing Prayer:
King of the Universe, inspire us to bring your Kingdom to earth. Give us the courage and strength to be led by the Holy Spirit, showing love, mercy, and faith in all we do and say. Help us stay committed to our New Year’s resolutions, becoming better Christians and better people in this new liturgical year. Amen.

House bake sale, make a cake your house colour!? House fundraising competition – getting sponsored? We like the run/walk/jog to raise money. Rowing machine competition in the hall – can a house keep going for the whole day? More general knowledge quizzes/sharing our quizzes.
House football competition, house quiz

House tuck shop, Guess the emoji competition, Sparx competiton (race), Guess what’s in the box game, Dance competition, Complete the story challenge, House football matches, Art competitions, Singing competition, Teacher/form gym competition, Cola and mentos explosion competition.
9P- would love to see more house sports competitions such as football, badminton, basketball and rugby. Board Game competitions would also be fun. Languages competitions, pi competitions and rubix cube contests would be interesting. Keepy uppy competition on stage at lunch could be an easy one. We would also back ourselves in a spelling competition, or a flag naming contest.
